#MillionsMissing Visibility Action: Southampton, England
#MillionsMissing is a global campaign for ME health equality. Help us make noise on 12th May 2019 by joining our Visibility Action in Southampton!
We look forward to seeing you in Guildhall Square at midday where we hope to repeat last year’s hugely successful visual display of over 400 pairs of shoes lined up in the middle of the square. Please bring shoes and tags to add to the display, representing the #millionsmissing who couldn’t make it. You can take the shoes home again, or leave them to be donated to homeless and refugee charities.
This is an awareness event, not a protest, so the atmosphere will be low-key, yet emotive, and accessible to everyone. Bring chairs, beds, whatever you need to be comfortable. Disabled parking is available on the square. Bring posters, banners, placards to help create an effective visual display for the public and photos on social media.
Come along to speak to the public reading the messages on the shoes and educate them around the issues facing people with ME and our demands for more funding for biomedical research. Everyone’s experience is relevant, whether you have ME, care for someone with ME or you have a friend, relative, colleague with ME.
Or you can simply chat to other people with ME who last year forged new friendships and enjoyed feeling part of a new community. Whatever you do, by joining in you will be a part of making change happen.
We recommend wearing #MillionsMissing t-shirts and these are available to buy via #MEAction.
