#MillionsMissing Visibility Action: Orlando, Florida
#MillionsMissing is a global campaign for ME health equality. Help us make noise on May 11th, 2019 from 12-1pm by joining our Visibility Action in Orlando!
We will gather for an hour at Lake Eola park to show our healthcare and governmental leadership that we demand change for ME/CFS. The most valuable thing you can do on this day is bring an attention getting poster or prop. There may be only a few eyes on us that day, but the images of the event will be a powerful tool of persuasion in our efforts for the whole year and beyond.
This disease will not continue to suffer these injustices if we continue to rally against them.
Our unity in wearing red is important to the strength of our message. Purchase your t-shirts here: https://millionsmissing-official.myshopify.com/products/millionsmissing-short-sleeve-t-shirt-red
Please include a note with your name, age, city, how long you've been missing and a short note about what you are missing or missing from. If you cannot attend but would like to mail in your shoes, please send an email email@example.com for the address. Shoes sent this way will not be returned.
MAKE A SIGN OR MORE!
This event is about BEING SEEN! Make a big bold sign! Do something attention getting! In your signs tell us what you are missing, or speak from your heart. Or you can choose to directly address Francis Collins, Marco Rubio, or Rick Scott and DEMAND ACTION!
It's on rain or shine. The event will be outdoors, there will be a small amount of shade available. A small number of chairs and blankets will be provided. Bringing your own seating is encouraged. Bathrooms are nearby.
Parking: Some street parking will be available. The Orlando Public Library parking garage is nearby (small fee): 112 E Central Blvd, Orlando, FL 32801.
If you'd like to help- most everything is already taken care of. The best way to help is to make a big bold sign or something else attention-getting!
(For everyone whether you are attending or not, you are all encouraged to post on social media. You can plan a stunning photo ahead of time- something expresses your experience, your frustration, or whatever you want to say. Or post pictures or video from the event! Or both!)
