Giving Tuesday: Facebook and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will match $2 million in donations

Are you planning a fundraiser or to make donations to ME/CFS non-profits between now and the end of the year? Double your impact with the Facebook and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation #GivingTuesday match by making your donations on November 28 using Facebook's fundraiser tools.

Take advantage of both the Open Medicine Foundation #TripleTuesdayOMF match and the Gates Foundation #GivingTuesday match to quadruple your impact by making your donation on November 28 using Facebook fundraiser.

"On this global day of giving, Facebook and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation are matching up to $2 million of funds raised on Facebook for U.S. nonprofits. Facebook is also waiving all fees for donations made to nonprofits on Facebook this #GivingTuesday. Make sure your nonprofit is set up to take advantage of the matching funds by using Facebook’s charitable giving tools."

"Donations to nonprofits made through Facebook’s charitable giving tools on November 28th will be matched up to $50,000 per nonprofit or $1,000 per fundraiser or donate button, until the $2 million in matching funds run out. The match will begin at 8AM EST (5AM PST)."

The Open Medicine Foundation and the Solve ME/CFS Initiative *should* be able to reach the full match limit of $50,000 per nonprofit if end-of-year donors make your donations using Facebook fundraiser on November 28. That would be an extra $100,000 for ME/CFS research and advocacy!

Tip: You can create Facebook fundraisers with $1000 limits for yourself (and others) and donate to them to get the match. Generous donors of more than $1000 per nonprofit can split the amount among multiple $1000-limit Facebook fundraisers.

Thank you!
